The
Imbalance
When the Aspect of Wonder overwhelms all other the other forces that produce Human consciousness, the result is Fantasy. Fantasy is the exaggerated perception of the world, which diminishes Aspect of Awe and the Aspect of Sentience. As they are lessened within the circle of of a person's life, so do those aspects of consciousness that depend upon them. Without Awe, a Person has no sense of proportion. Such a Person believes that the Earth and its inhabitants are more important than any other beings in the universe. Without Sentience, a person fails to understand the world around oneself. Such a Person comes to believe that inexplicable forces inhabit the world and determine its fate. The Precept of Seek Knowledge depends on the conjunction between Sentience and Wonder. The importance of this precept is diminished because the Aspect of Sentience is lessened in proportion to its importance. As Wonder turns to Fantasy, the Person begins to believe that Knowledge is incompatible with Wonder. In the same manner, the Precept of Be Nice is diminished. The importance of this precept is diminished because the Aspect of Awe is lessened in proportion to its importance. As Person's Fantasies become their reality, they lose the ability to sense the fears and passions of others. The Precept of Obey Laws is almost eliminated. The Aspects of Sentience and Awe have been diminished, lessening the importance of this Precept. When Wonder becomes Fantasy, a Person believes that all laws, rules and regulations are arbitrary and capricious. |
