The
Imbalance
of
Intolerance

When the Precept of Obey Laws overwhelms
all other the other Aspects and Precepts
that produce Human consciousness, the result
is Intolerance. Intolerance occurs
when the conjunction between Aspect of Sentience
and Aspect of Awe becomes disproportionately emphasized. As this aspect of Human
consciousness increases within the circle of a Person's life, all other Aspects
and Precepts are diminished.
In order to increase
the importance of the Precept of Obey Laws, both the Aspects of Awe and
Sentience must also increase their influence upon a Person's
consciousness. As these two Aspects grow in importance, the Aspect
of Wonder must necessarily diminish. A Person who overemphasizes the
Precept of Obey Laws, rejects the importance of curiosity, discovery and
joy
When the Aspect of Wonder diminishes, the
Precept of
Be Nice must also diminish in proportion. A
Person who overemphasizes Obey Laws, substitutes formality for
friendship and social status above personal merit. A Person who violates the rules is
subject to established legal proceedings and punishment, with little
regard for either circumstances or consequences.
When Sentience is
diminished, the Precept of Seek Knowledge is diminished in proportion.
An educated Person would perceive inequalities in the law or in its
enforcement. An educated Person would contend that without justice laws
are tyranny. When a
Person overemphasizes the Precept of Obey Laws, he or she is intolerant.
When a Society exaggerates obedience, it is tyranny. |
