The
Imbalance
When the Precept of Be Nice overwhelms the other Aspects and Precepts that produce Human consciousness, the result is Pacifism. Pacifism occurs when the conjunction between the Aspect of Awe and the Aspect of Wonder becomes disproportionately emphasized. As this aspect of Human consciousness increases within the circle of a Person's life, all other Aspects and Precepts are diminished. In order to increase the importance of the Precept of Be Nice, both the Aspects of Awe and Wonder must also increase their influence upon a Person's consciousness. As these two Aspects grow in importance, the Aspect of Sentience must necessarily diminish. A Person who overemphasizes the Precept of Be Nice, rejects the importance of knowledge, intellect and understanding. When Sentience diminishes, the Precept of Obey Laws must also diminish in proportion. A Person who overemphasizes Be Nice, puts his or her concepts of social interactions above the law. A Person who violates the Precept of Be Nice is not subject to established legal proceedings. Instead, the violator is punished by the removal of Niceness, including shunning or exile. When Sentience is diminished, the Precept of Seek Knowledge is diminished in proportion. An educated Person would know about others set of rules of behavior other than those established by the distorted Precept. Such a Person might advocate changing the established rules or might justify not Being Nice by invoking alternative thoughts or ideas. When a Person overemphasizes the Precept of Be Nice the result is Pacifism. Such people do not recognize that others can and will take advantage of them. When a Society exaggerates the Precept of Be Nice, it fails to recognize that other groups of People will take advantage of them. In such a Society, appeasement is the preferred diplomacy. These Societies are easily conquered and exterminated. |
